We chose an island wheelhouse, because after you have owned a boat with one, going back to a conventional design is just hard work. This is a big boat! Running it single-handed as most of us do, being able to pop out of the twin side doors to moor up, walk around the front to sort out the anchor, even just to clean the windows is easy and safe.

Better than clinging on working your way along the gunnels with just a toe rail separating you from your wife cashing in on your life policy!!

We designed the wheelhouse big enough to accommodate 10 personnel with 2 more seated and protected by the rear roof overhang. Outside wash down toilet cubicle has also been incorporated for ease of cleaning.

The wheelhouse design and styling was to complement the hull, giving a visually low mean aggressive look from the outside yet light and airy inside.

For the helmsman we chose a centre helm position, skippers lateral rolling and vertical accelerations are greatly reduced alleviating fatigue, plus all round visibility is superb. The traditional style forward leaningwindows give a more spacious interior feeling and produce less glare.

The island wheelhouse supplied also gives  nearly a metre width of deck area freeing up the whole gunnel length. Click here to see bigger image - wheel house deck

We have designed a one-piece multi-faceted dash and helm with steps and footrest assembly, modular locker/seat boxes to facilitate a fast and professional finished look.

All non-critical load bearing structures in the wheelhouse utilise extremely low-density materials providing massive weight savings against conventional materials while still maintaining strength.
